The Gold (Mechanical Pipe Fitter) JIB card is intended for fully qualified pipefitters who have the training, experience and advanced Health and Safety certifications necessary to work on a construction site or other carded area without supervision.
To gain a Gold (Mechanical Pipe Fitter) JIB Card certification, you’ll need to have achieved a Level 3 NVQ or SVQ of a Pipefitting, Plant & Systems Installation, Marine Engineering or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning type, including but not limited to:
Heating & Ventilating – Industrial/Commercial (6008)
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (6017)
Heating & Ventilating (Industrial/Commercial) (6018)
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (6087)
Heating & Ventilating (Industrial/Commercial)/(Ductwork) (6088)
Diploma in Heating & Ventilating (Heat Pump Systems) (6187)
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning/Heat Pump Systems (6188)

This is not an extensive list – you may be eligible for this card if you hold similar qualifications.
The Gold (Mechanical Pipe Fitter) JIB Card is valid for five years and can be renewed.
Those engineers who wish to move on from their Gold (Mechanical Pipe Fitter) JIB card may want to seek wither their Gold (Supervisor) or Black (Manager) JIB cards.
