The Blue (Plumber) JIB card is intended for fully qualified operatives who have the training, Health and Safety classes and experience necessary to work as a plumber on a construction site or other carded area.
To gain a Blue (Plumber) JIB Card certification, you’ll need to have achieved a Level 2 NVQ of a plumbing-related type, or a plumbing-related City and Guilds certificate.

British Shipbuilders Certificate of Apprenticeship in Plumbing
City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbers’ Work (617-1)
City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbing (596-1)
City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Plumbing (603-1)
City & Guilds NVQ Diploma in Plumbing & Heating (6189-11)
FETAC National Craft Certificate – Plumbing (Irish)
SCOTVEC Module Certification
Note: Level 1 qualifications and Level 2 vocationally related qualifications (e.g. C&G 6129 or 6035 qualifications) are not acceptable for this card.
If you have completed the Level 2 Plumbing Technical Certificate/Diploma (City & Guilds 6129/6035 or BPEC/EAL equivalent qualifications) and are not continuing your studies to the BPEC, EAL or City & Guilds Level 2/3 NVQ/SVQ Diplomas, the only card you will be eligible to apply for is the Labourer card.
The Blue (Plumbing) JIB Card is valid for five years and can be renewed.
Those operatives who wish to move on from their Blue (Plumbing) JIB card will want to seek their Gold (Plumbing) JIB card.
