The Construction Related Occupation (CRO) CSCS card is intended for members of those construction-related professions which need to access construction sites, but do not fall into any other CSCS Card category or have no relevant NVQ available.
Working in a construction related job without a CSCS card can be difficult or impossible, so this card exists to certify the competence of otherwise un-carded workers on a construction site.
This card is meant for those who often work alongside construction workers, but do not fall into any other category and cannot qualify for a different CSCS card. As such, there are few prerequisites for CSCS CRO certification.
All attendees must already have passed the Health & Safety Test before seeking this certification.
All CRO cards issued from 1st October 2015 will expire on 30th September 2017 and are not renewable. CSCS will stop issuing CRO cards from 31st March 2017.
If you feel that a different type of CSCS certification would be more appropriate or lead you to new opportunities, a Blue (Skilled Worker) CSCS Card may be the next step in your career.
