This one-day, Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher, Site Safety Plus course is directed to those persons in a supervisory role in the construction industry. It is designed to update them as to their legal responsibilities relating to environmental issues, welfare of the workforce, and health and safety issues.
If you’re new to the role of supervisor, or are considering it as your next career move then this course is also ideal.
The SSSTS Refresher Course is taught in such a way so to involve classroom interactions, debate and discussions, including case study analysis of group and individual presentations. An ongoing assessment ensues throughout the day, terminating with a multiple choice exam at the end of the 1-day refresher period.
Course applicants are required to hold a valid SSSTS – Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme certification. A further requirement is current employment as a Supervisor, or to be actively applying for a similar supervisory role.
Successful completion of the course will result in a CITB Site Safety Plus certification.
There is a requirement for a good comprehension of both written and spoken English. Candidates for the SSSTS Refresher Course must finalise the course before their current SSSTS certificate expires (within a five-year period). The SSSTS certificate must be renewed every 5 years to be valid.
