The CPCS A17 Telescopic Handler course provides a basic training and assessment in how to operate and maintain telescopic handlers.
Candidates will be taught through a mixture of practical exercises and tutorials based in the classroom. Assessment is carried out via tests in both theory and practical elements.
This course is ideal for existing and potential operators of telescopic handlers who have had no formal training, or require refreshment to their training certification.
There are five specific subtypes available to candidates on this course:
Depending on the level of experience for candidates the course length differs. For inexperienced candidates the course length is 5 days, for a novice it is 4 days and for experienced operatives the course is 3 days.
Successful candidates will be awarded the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on completion of the CPCS Technical Tests) and the CITB National Construction College certificate.
Within the last two years candidates must have successfully completed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test. A good knowledge of both written and spoken English is required.
