The CPCS A04 Tower Crane course has been developed to give applicants training in tower crane use in a thorough and methodical manner, utilising both practical and theoretical training.
This course is taught and assessed through a combination of practical as well as theory examinations and lessons.
This tower crane course is suitable for those individuals who have received no formal training on how to operate tower cranes. It is also ideal for those existing operators looking for a refresher course.
There are two different endorsements, specific to certain types of machinery:
Upon completing this course, successful candidates will receive certification from the CITB National Construction College. A CPCS Red Trained Operator Card will also be awarded one CPCS Technical Tests have been successfully completed. National Construction College certificate.
Applicants must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test within two years of the course date. You must have a good understanding of both written and spoken English and be able to operate comfortably at heights, due to the nature of working with tower cranes.
Once the CPCS A04 Tower Crane course has been completed you may want to consider the Slinger/Signaller course, crane supervisor course, appointed person course, or study for the CPCS Blue Competent Operator card.
