This one day course is required for new entrants and operatives, as well as for current CISRS Scaffolding Labourers who need to replace their expired cards. It will teach the basic skills and industry practices that labourers need to work on and around scaffolding or other access devices in safety.
This is a classroom-based course that will be taught by an industry professional. You will be studying on your own and may be asked to participate in group work as well. You will be assessed both on your score on a multiple choice test and on class/group participation.
Those who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of attendance, which once they have also completed the CITB HS&E test, will allow them to apply for a new or replacement CISRS Labourer Card. This certificate is valid for five years, however the card needs to be applied for within 6 months after the course date.
After completing this course, you may apply for your CISRS Scaffolding Labourer’s Card. Please click on the card type to see the full requirements for that card.
You may also want to take the CISRS Part 1 and Part 2 courses which will allow you to apply for the Red (Trainee) CISRS Card.
This course is intended both for those with little or no previous access equipment safety training and those workers who are already qualified, but seeking to renew an expired card. Fluency in written and spoken English will be required.
